Virtual Holidays: Social Distance Gatherings Made Easier

Are you scrambling to figure out how you are going to celebrate the holidays with family while staying socially distanced due to COVID-19? Well, many of the video conferencing tech companies are giving the world a gift this holiday season by removing the time limit for free subscribers.

Zoom Video Communications Inc, whose technology, along with several other video conferencing companies, have become a common addition to everyone’s socially distanced household in 2020. The company announced on its website that it would be removing the time limit for its free accounts on all meetings for the holiday season. This change will be made globally so that families can enjoy their celebration.

The removal of the time limit will cover Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the last day of Hanukah and Kwanzaa, as well New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

This will hopefully come as good news to those of us that are staying home and planning to celebrate the holidays virtually with family and friends.

Alphabet’s Google Meet had previously announced that it was removing time limits on users until march.
