MorganALert

Morgan County Emergency Management Agency has been working for several years to identify and implement an emergency alert system for the citizens of Morgan County.  We want you, a citizen of Morgan County, to have the ability to choose what alerts you get and how you want to receive them. However, with several roadblocks, including COVID-19, some of our projects have taken longer than we hoped and expected.

There are several reasons why this process took us longer to complete but primarily, we had specific criteria that we wanted this system to meet.  For example, if you are only concerned about when a Tornado Watch is issued and you want that alert sent via text message to your cell phone, then you can choose that option. The only alert that you will be required to receive will be a Tornado Warning.  Weather alerts are automatically sent to you, via your chosen method, when they are issued by the National Weather Service.

We hope all Morgan County residents take advantage of this new system, adding another tool toward preparedness. With all the great features this system has, we want to make sure that you do not rely on one system.  Having multiple ways to receive alerts will ensure that you and your family are prepared and safe during severe weather.
